Constructed in 1889, the Eiffel Tower was supposed to be dismantled 20 years later, but stayed in place because it proved to be useful for scientific experiments. Here are a few figures: 10,100 tons, 2,500,000 rivets, 1,655 steps. Today, the tower is a symbol of Paris and France across the world and sparkles for five minutes on the hour every evening. A few minutes away from our hotel, the Eiffel tower is the most visited monument in Paris. Queues to access the lifts can be extremely long. To avoid a long wait, we recommend that you book your date and time of visit in advance.

The elevated « Troca »has a privileged viewpoint of the Eiffel Tower on the opposite bank of the Seine. Between the curved wings of the vast Palais de Chaillot – emblem of the 1930s – are gently sloping terraces and gardens, bordered by century-old Caucasian wing nut and hazel trees, and dotted with gilded bronze statues. Skaters and rollerbladers weave alongside the 20 fountains in the large basin beneath the gaze of Apollo and Hercules, sculpted on the pediment of the pavilions.

The vast landscaoed park laid out below the famous tower has nothing warlike about it, and even boasts as Wall of Peace. Its name, borrowed from the Roman god of war, relates to the early history of the “champ” as an exercise area for the young cadets of the military school. Later, as the center point of the Expositions Universele, it was chosen as the site of the biggest attraction of 1889, the Eiffel Tower.

All the richness and diversity of France’s wine heritage can be found in a collection of instruments and objects relating to the cultivation of the vine and the winemaking. For wine buffs, there are lessons and tastings!

With 500 species, presented over 3,500 m2, Europe’s finest aquarium is the place for discovering an exciting and abundant natural world… An exceptional setting and new technology enrich the cultural, educational and fun aspects of the visit.

This « Cité » devotes 23,000 m2 to architecture and heritage from the 12th century to the present day. Its comprehensive program of events – museum, exhibitions, workshops, classes, visits and lectures – provides the visitor with an appreciation of major architectural works and an understanding of the latest trends.

Discover one of the world’s oldest maritime museums, a meeting place for those who love or are curious about the sea : models of ships from the 17th century onwards, marine paintings and objects, figureheads and current-day themes.

Once a woodcutter’s hamlet, the village has kept its charm of yesterday with small rustic looking lanes like the rue Berton and little secret gardens, which blend in perfectly with the town houses, fashion boutiques and other shops along the rue de l’Annonciation.

The biggest museum of Asian arts in Europe : treasures from the silk route, Buddha from Angkor, prints, divine Indian elephants, tiaras from Nepal, ink paintings from China….
