Country information

Starting in the capital city of Casablanca, the tour heads to the capital of Rabat and through the Ismailian capital of Meknes to ancient Fes, often referred to as the country's cultural capital. After spending 2 full days in incredible Marrakesh you will then travel east towards the desert. See ancient Kasbahs, palm groves and traditional Berber villages before returning over the High Atlas mountains to Marrakesh, where the tour ends. The Morocco Imperial cities and Desert wonders tour is an excellent opportunity to experience not only the major cities it is known for but also take in the splendor of the ever-changing countryside and majestic desert.

Morocco is an exquisite land known for its potent mystique and exotic aura. Europe’s closest link to Africa, Morocco is neither European nor African. It is a rich mix of both with a flavor distinctly its own. In this tour, we offer an excellent introduction to this magnificent culture and country including visits to Berber villages, palm groves, old Kasbahs and a library in Tamgroute, housing ancients manuscripts dating back to the 12th century.

High Season for visitors is from March to May, and September to mid-November when the weather is warm but not too hot. In December, it is usually warm and sunny during the day, you just need to be prepared with warm layers of clothing for the colder nights – February is also a very beautiful month when the almond blossoms are out and there is still snow on the high mountains. During the summer months of July and August, it is much cooler in the mountains compared to the big cities, and there is often a refreshing breeze. It is worth checking the dates of Muslim religious holidays and feast days in Morocco before planning your trip. Most Moroccans are Muslim and observe Ramadan (a month of fasting from dawn till dusk). Book well in advance or avoid traveling around the religious holiday of Eid Al Hattr (or ‘La Fךte des Moutons’, the Feast of the Sheep). This is a big family celebration when many businesses are closed is fully booked as people travel to spend the feast day with their relatives.
